"Dancing in the Park"

These photos of Bryan and Kelsey all ready for prom were so beautiful. They are a treasure and I am so happy we have them! These two pages "go" together so I will put them in the same post.

"Dancing in the Park"
Kelsey's family had unique ideas for setting up photo scenarios, and some very memorable photos were taken at Centennial Park before heading to the Annapolis Mess for Prom. The photos turned out beautifully!
June 24, 2014

For this LO, I used  a sheet of CTMH patterned paper with a subtle peacock feather design on it. I'd been hoarding it since September 2010, awaiting a "special" purpose.  It's from the 2010 'Magnifique' collection! Well, in these Prom LOs, I'd say that this paper found its purpose!

Journaling was done on a scrap piece of CTMH Crystal Blue CS, using the Script MT Bold font.

The "lovely" lettered banner pieces were from a set of CTMH embellishments for the 'Balloon Ride' collection. That  paper collection was released in 2014. :)

The turquoise sequins came from the more recent CTMH 'Florence' (2016) collection.

Brads "bashed" included traditional round brads from CTMH and Bazill, plus musical notes (from HOTP) and silver star brads (unknown source).

The large musical note was created by my scrappy/crafty friend Pam Sandy ages ago. She and her spouse had a small powdercoat business at the time and made a variety these for sale. I had been hoarding this, too, just waiting for the perfect layout to use it on!  I added some black Waxy Flax for the top of this embellie as there was a hole there

The acetate music transparency was created by Hambly. (I miss them!) I just cut what I needed, as I needed it, from a larger sheet. I only have a small piece of this left now! I secured it to the LO with tiny CTMH brads.

The old Victrola was a "Thank you" sticker I had purchased as part of a set at Dollarama. I cannot tell you how long ago THAT was! LOL I cut the "THANK YOU" part off, and used the sticker without it. I just tucked the sticker into the cluster. It seemed perfect there!

Flowers used came from my stash (I think they were all from Prima!)

I also added a few tiny black tendrils peeking out from under the flowers. These are rub-ons from Bazzill- would you believe the date on the package says 2006?? LOL!

Three wee little sparkly puffy "leaf" stickers finished the page. They are from the CTMH embellishment roster way back in winter 2014!

Here is the facing page:

Two more beautiful photos of Kelsey and Bryan at Centennial Park before Prom. The light at this time of day really accentuated the gorgeous colour of Kelsey's gown!
June 24, 2014

For this LO, I bashed a very special piece of paper from the 'Magnifique' collection, which was released by CTMH in 2010. I felt that Kelsey's beautiful Prom gown 'deserved' to be set off by this stunning peacock paper!

I used Stickles in Mermaid,Turquoise and Diamond to accentuate the peacock's plumage. The Diamond Stickles are a fave of mine as they reflect any colour that they have been applied over!

I also used up another Bazzill chipboard key and used Copics to colour it. I tied it off with some black Waxy Flax.
Then, I layered a small metal key over the chipboard one and added some flowers, brads and gemstones/sequins to the cluster.

I finished the page with a wood veneer arrow that  pointed to Kelsey and Bryan's picture and said "Love it".

There you have it!  A two-pager featuring the beautiful peacock paper and a beautiful couple on Prom night.

Thanks for peeking at my layouts today. I'm so glad you came by!!

"Photo Memories"

This layout is another in the series I am doing about Bryan's 2014 Prom. :)

Feels really good to be getting these done! I figure I just have a few more pictures to scrap and this goal will have been reached, and then I'm on to the next.

Here is the layout that I created:

The font I used for the journaling is Script MT bold.

Journaling reads:

When the graduates arrived at the Annapolis Mess for Prom 2014, they had their photo taken in a special area that had been set up and decorated just for this. The photographer even edited the photos and layered  the words "West Kings Prom 2014" over one of the columns in a very classy way so these memories could be saved and easily identified. Having those words on the column made the photo even more "valuable" in terms of it's use for memory-keeping.

This LO features lots of satisfying "stash-bashing"! If you have scrappy stash you'd like to bash (...and we all DO!), check out the friendliest site on FB: the "Bash Your Stash" group, HERE. We all cheer one another on!! So much is being accomplished over there. Everyone is happy and supportive of each others' efforts.

Here is what I was able to "bash" today, just on this LO!

For the banners,I used CTMH scraps from the 'For Always' and 'Florence' collections, plus a scrap of CTMH's Black CS. I just LOVE banners as they are a great way to use up scraps!

I had larger left-over pieces of Black and Slate CTMH CS and used them to mat some of the photos. Some left-over pieces of Crystal Blue were used for the journaling.

A full sheet of CTMH paper from the 'Ariana' collection was used as the background.
and I even used part of the zip-strip from that same sheet. I saved the last little bit-- no doubt it will come in handy!

The embellishment cluster you see on the lower left of the page incorporates items from K&Co., Bazzill, and CTMH.

Here is a close-up shot of the cluster:
Embellishment cluster

The flowers were from my stash- some came from Prima. I fussy-cut the teal coloured globe from a sheet of SU! patterned paper. The brads on the flowers were from Bazzill and CTMH.

The tiny roll of film was stamped using CTMH's C1440, a set called "Take a picture". After I stamped it in Pacifica ink on Crystal Blue CS, I cut it out.

The Bazzill chipboard key was coloured with a Copic marker- B26 'Cobalt Blue', and tied with black CTMH Waxy Flax.

The chipboard bird embellie was from the CTMH Skylark collection.

The sparkly turquoise stars are from a current CTMH embellishment kit.

Here's how "old" some of my pretties were when I "bashed" through them:

'Waxy Flax' was from Autumn 2012 (CTMH)
'For Always' was from Spring 2013 (CTMH)
'Ariana' was from WInter 2014 (CTMH)
'Skylark' was from Winter 2014 (CTMH)
'Florence' was from Summer 2016 (CTMH)

Hope you've enjoyed seeing all this stash-bashing and creating!! I'm really happy to be well on the way to getting all these prom photos scrapped!

Have a great day- see you again soon!

"Be Amazing"

Here's another installment in the ongoing creation of SB pages about Bryan's 2014 Prom!

This LO was created using some papers and a zip-strip from the CTMH "For Always" collection. I pressed some never-used CTMH stamps into service as well. Those stamps were  from a set called "This Moment" which was the  CTMH Stamp of the Month set from January 2015.

The CS is "Crystal Blue" from CTMH. I was excited when I saw how this matched the turquoise-y blue in Kelsey's dress (see other Prom photo LOs for a view of her dress)! It also matched the turquoise tie that came WITH the gown. She had given it to Bry in time for Prom! I'm also lovin' the round wooden heart embellie which was part of a black glitter Fundamental Assortment. The epoxy bubbles were from some very old CTMH stash!
So happy to be using things up.

I have shared this LO with the Bash your Stash FB group. It's a great place to gain some incentive to use up those wonderful items that may be sitting neglected in your collection of scrappy supplies!

I am entering this LO in the July Love to Scrap Challenge Blog's "Anything goes" Challenge. the rules of this challenge blog state that no matter what the challenge, your entries MUST include stamping. I was so excited to be able to use those new stamps,  and having a challenge that incorporates stamps was just the ticket! Why not join in?

Enough chattering!  I am so happy with the way this turned out.

 "Debonair"
Prom 2014 LO by Yours Truly

for Challenge #99 at LTSCB
Journaling reads:
"Debonair"
Bryan looked so debonair in his Tux before Prom!  This set of photos was taken right in our own living room. After we took them, it was time to head over to Centennial Park for some photos with Kelsey in her gown.

"Click"

One of the things I wanted to do this year was to finish scrappin' our son Bryan's graduation and Prom. This all happened in 2014, so it was high time!

I got his Graduation ceremony and our little family after-party all scrapbooked and have started on the Prom layouts. Bry went with a friend and we got some lovely photos with Dad's "spiffy camera"!!

I created a page about Bryan's Prom for a challenge that I heard about from my friend Lori, who had posted about it on her blog. Thanks Lori!

This month, it's a challenge where "Anything goes" and it's Challenge #99 on the "Love to Scrap Challenge Blog", or LTSCB.

All entries in the challenge must include some stamping.

This was right up my alley as I have lots of beautiful My Acrylix stamps from CTMH that I am trying to incorporate more in my scrappin'. So here is my Prom page-- including stamping, for the "Anything Goes" Challenge #99 at LTSCB!

 for LTSCB Challenge #99

To be sure I included the required stamping for challenges at LTSCB, I went thru all my CTMH stamps and found an older, now retired, set called "Take a picture"- C1440. In it, I found the photo frame corners, and the circle that says "A picture is worth 1000 words". I was happy to find the perfect one-word title, too:"Click" !

I used CTMH's Thistle ink for the circle stamp, and Peacock ink for the title and photo frame corners. It turned out really well and I am so happy!

I used up some stash too!

The folks over at the Bash your Stash FB group are really encouraging and celebrate right along with you when you manage to "bash" a few items from your scrap stash! Come join the fun at the Bash your Stash FB group

The flowers and brads have been in my stash for ages and have now found a home on a LO, as have some of the Dollarama $2 turquoise-coloured adhesive gemstones. The pennants used in my banner also came from my "CTMH-scrappy stash", but they aren't as old as everything else I used here.

The patterned papers are from older CTMH collections- the blue background sheet and the two blue patterned cards on the right of the photo are from the Florence collection.

The black snakeskin textured paper is from Laughing Lola, another CTMH collection from ages ago.

The beautiful dark teal banner was made from paper that came from the more recent Swan Lake CTMH paper collection.

Journaling:
Bryan and Kelsey had another photo taken in one of the "photo opp" areas that had been set up for Prom-goers at the Annapolis Mess. The lighting in this area really accentuated the deep, rich colour of Kelsey's dress!
